Looking for natural ways to combat hair loss in San Diego? The leading provider of hair restoration in San Diego offers these suggestions on vitamins and minerals that may help reduce hair fall.

Your hair fall may not be preventable or reversible, but it may be possible to get stronger and healthier hair by utilizing some of these vitamins and minerals as part of your diet. These daily supplements may help enhance your diet so that you are more capable of growing healthy hair.

Iron – Iron deficiency is the most common nutrient deficiency in North America. The heme iron that is found in animal foods is better absorbed than the non-heme iron found in plants, but whether you are an omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan, you can get the iron you need from several different types of food such as brown rice, eggs, red meat, or tomato sauce. You may also consider adding an iron supplement to your diet on a daily basis.

Vitamin D – While there is no lack of sunlight in San Diego, vitamin D is also good for helping to prevent and treat eczema. In some cases eczema has been associated as a cause of hair loss and so adding a vitamin D supplement or incorporating foods such as mushrooms, grains, or salmon that are rich in vitamin D may be beneficial.

Zinc – Zinc is a mineral that is strongly associated with hair growth. It is especially important that those who partake in heavy exercise and physical activity incorporate more zinc into their diet. Eating foods such as turkey, lamb, chocolate, or even munching on pumpkin seeds can help put more zinc back into your body. Additionally, you can add a supplement that incorporates 15-30mg of zinc.

Try implementing these nutrients into your diet to see if it helps you build healthier hair, but be prepared for other issues to be the root cause of your hair fall. If you are still experiencing hair fall consult a leading provider of San Diego hair restoration to discover a hair loss solution that is right for you.

Worried about your loss of hair? These foods may be able to help prevent loss of hair in both men and women.

We have discussed some of the worst food for hair loss in the past, so now we want to focus on the top 5 foods that may help you in preventing you from losing your hair. While these methods may not stop hair loss, the added nutrients and vitamins may help benefit hair health.

Walnuts – Walnuts and other types of nuts contain essential oils that benefit the elastin in your hair, which helps to contribute to growth. Don’t overdo your intake of walnuts, however, as it can make your hair thinner.

Spinach – Due to the fact that spinach is rich in iron, iron deficiency being the second leading cause of hair loss, eating this vegetable can help improve hair health. Try eating salads that use spinach leaves or include spinach in place of lettuce on your sandwich.

Halibut – Certain types of fish can help to contribute to hair restoration because of the presence of magnesium. One of the best foods for magnesium is halibut. Halibut also has lower mercury levels than other types of fish like tuna or mackeral.

Carrots – Carrots can help your scalp due to the transition of beta carotene into vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A then produces scalp-sustaining oils.

Bok Choy – Ferritin levels contribute to hair loss, specifically in women. Managing ferrititin levels can be done by consuming bok choy, a food that is rich in iron to promote hair health.

Other foods such as greek yogurt and eggs can improve hair health, as this article from the Huffington Post outlines.

While it may be possible to improve your hair health with these foods, it may not be possible to reverse the loss of hair you are experiencing and Raz International may be able to assist you in finding a natural treatment to hair restoration that really works for you. Just call us at 760-652-9983 if you are interested in a free consultation to evaluate your loss of hair and how we can help.

Evidence is showing that curry leaves may be instrumental in preventing hair loss in San Diego and premature graying.

Evidence is showing that curry leaves may be instrumental in preventing hair loss in San Diego and premature graying.

A natural and cost-effective solution to aid in hair health may be to utilize curry leaves. While certainly not a miracle product, there is evidence to suggest that curry leaves can help rejuvenate hair follicles that have been damaged, prevent premature graying, and even help to stop some forms of alopecia in San Diego.

Curry leaves are rich in certain nutrients that can combat pollution and strengthen hair follicles.

Vitamin B – The vitamin B in curry leaves can help to restore hair color that is caused either by genetic build-up or health factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, or stress.

Beta-Carotene and Proteins – Some types of alopecia in women is caused by pollution that is absorbed through the environment, improper hair care, or bad food habits. The beta carotene that is found in curry leaves can help prevent this type of hair loss while proteins can help fight against thinning.

Amino Acids and Anti-Oxidants – Anti-oxidants have been show to moisturize the scalp as well as aid in the prevention of dandruff, which can be a contributing factor in thinning hair and hair loss. Amino acids can work to strengthen the follicles of the hair.

So how can you utilize the benefits of curry leaves? Here are several ways that you can make the most out of the active ingredients in curry leaves:

Diet – Including curry leaves into your regular diet is one method to reap the benefits. Mix curry leaves that have been shredded into milk or butter milk or include it in yogurt. Try adding some curry leaf powder in rice.

Topical – Combine yogurt and curry leaves into a fine paste and massage this mixture into your hair. Let the paste stand for 15 minutes on your scalp and then rinse it out. You can also combine boiled curry leaves with your hair oil and massage this combination into your scalp for about 15 minutes, rinsing out when you are done. This is a solution that you can use as often as twice a week.

If you find that despite your efforts you still require a more effective hair restoration solution, consult with the expert at Raz International free of charge by calling 760-652-9983.

San Diego hair loss expert and founder of Raz International shares 5 hair secrets to save you money.

As someone who has been a specialist in hair restoration for over 30 years I have discovered some of may great tips for hair that will also help you save money. Here are a few of the tips that are most likely to benefit you.

Install a Water Filter – Simply by installing a water filter on the end of your shower head you can keep minerals typically found in tap water from causing brassiness in your hair, specifically if you are a red head or a blonde. This will save you from having to constantly dye your hair just to achieve what should be your natural hair color.

Daily Multi-Vitamin – Taking a daily multi-vitamin that is high in biotin, silica, vitamin C, and protein may help you with hair loss triggered by stress.

Simple Sun Protection – Especially in sunny areas like San Diego, protecting your hair from the sun’s UV rays is crucial and will save you money on dying your hair frequently or moisturizing treatments. Simply wearing hats or utilizing a conditioner with UV protection will help.

Coconut Oil – Instead of paying for high-end products in salons to strengthen your hair you can utilize coconut oil, which is not only cheaper but is more effective as it does more than just sit on the follicle as it penetrates the hair.

Avoid Clarifying Shampoo – You don’t need to spend a lot of money on clarifying shampoos, all you need is a shampoo that will maintain your color.

I will continue to include more of my hair secrets on this blog so continue to check back for the latest updates.

Many different types of hair loss in San Diego afflict both men and women. In an effort to help you get a better understanding of hair loss in San Diego, our hair restoration expert, Amnon Zakay, outlines the different types of hair loss that may affect you.

Alopecia, commonly known as hair loss, affects millions of men and women in the United States, but there are many different types of alopecia that affect both men and women.

Involutional Alopecia – This type of hair loss is condition where the hair gradually thins with age. It is a result of more of the hair follicles going into a resting phase and results in remaining hair becoming fewer in number and shorter. This type is usually the reason that a larger percentage of men and women experience thinning hair with age; the number of men who have noticeable hair loss goes from 40% at age 35 to 70% by age 80 and why by age 60, 80% of women will experience some type of hair loss.

Androgenic Alopecia – Also known as androgenetic alopecia, this genetic condition results in pattern baldness in men and women. In men androgenic alopecia typically presents itself as a receding hairline, where the hair around the front of the scalp and crown begins to thin. For women experiencing this type of hair loss it usually presents as thinning that occurs over the entire scalp and primarily at the crown.

Telogen Effluvium – This type of hair loss is commonly temporary and are a result of changes in the hairs growth cycle. This is the second most common type of hair loss and those with this condition do not often see complete loss of hair, though it may be extremely thin in certain areas.

Any of these types of alopecia may be reason to consult with a hair restoration expert to find a solution to your hair loss. You can call us for a free, no-obligation consultation today at 760-652-9983 or visit our hair loss solutions for more information.

The Federal Trade Commission recently accused Bosley, Inc. and Hair Club of colluding on pricing in an anti-trust lawsuit.

For those in need of hair restoration in San Diego, you may feel vulnerable and insecure about your thinning hair and the last thing that you want is to receive hair restoration services from a company that you can’t trust. Recently, two of the largest providers of hair restoration, Bosley and Hair Club, were accused of sharing sensitive information on prices and products in order to control the market, according to the FTC.

As a provider of hair restoration, we at Raz International believe that each client should have the opportunity to be well-informed about all methods of hair loss treatment and then make their own decision. Whether you believe surgical hair transplantation, wigs, extensions, or natural methods for hair restoration are right for you, as a consumer you have the choice. This is why it is disheartening to hear of providers of these services taking advantage of their clients who are trusting them to give them the best services at fair prices.

If you are looking for a hair loss clinic in San Diego that is focused on educating clients more than sales, that is dedicated to providing free consultations to interested clients without any pressure or obligations, call Raz International today at 760-652-9983. See what Raz International clients have to say about our service in our hair restoration reviews.

Women who experience hair loss in San Diego are always looking for tips and products to help them increase the strength of their thinning hair. A line of products from Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy, a new brand from Unilever, the company behind Dove, TRESemmé, and St. Ives, is attempting to provide thicker, healthier hair through scalp treatment.

The vitamin and nutrient-enriched shampoo and conditioner are claimed to help increase hair strength in as little as 7 days, but the most important part is that they are currently offering samples to take their 7 Day Scalp & Hair Challenge with a money-back guarantee. Just visit and like their Facebook page and you can take advantage of the offer for yourself.

According to recent reviews of the Clear Scalp & Hair Beauty Therapy line, the line consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and weekly treatment mask, all of which have a light and pleasant aroma. Many women are enjoying the fact that the products are quite affordable (roughly $6 per bottle) and are available at major chains such as Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and CVS as well as available online at Amazon.com and drugstore.com.

Many people may know about the foods that encourage healthy hair, but it is equally important to know about foods that are bad for your hair. Here are the top 5 worst foods for hair loss in San Diego.

Fish That is High in Mercury – In Southern California many people may be eating fish that contain high levels of mercury such as swordfish, shark, and king mackerel. Eating several servings of these types of fish several times a week, especially if served as sushi, can be detrimental to hair growth as Mercury has been linked to hair loss.

Foods or Drinks High in Sugar – Eating an excessive amount of sweets can result in the shrinking of the hair follicle. As sugar levels in the body rise more insulin is generated in response to the increase in blood sugar, which can cause raised levels of androgen, leading to the shrinking of the follicle. This also relates to high-glycemic foods such as pasta, white breads, and pizza.

Vitamin A Supplements – Since vitamin A has been linked to hair loss, supplements that provide an excessive amount of vitamin A could lead to thinning hair. Unless you are being directed to take more than the daily requirement of vitamin A by your physician, make sure that you keep your intake to the recommended 900 mcg RAE for men and 700 mcg RAE for women.

Foods High in Sodium – Foods such as prepared lunch meats, soy sauce, canned soup are high in sodium and can cause hair fall.

Too Much Animal Protein – Consuming more than 30 grams of animal protein per day can result in an increase of uric acid in the body, which can often cause excessive hair fall.

Avoid these foods and it may help you with some of your hair loss issues. If you require more assistance with hair restoration in San Diego, consult the expert at Raz International today by calling 760-652-9983.

Just because you are experiencing hair loss in San Diego doesn’t mean that you don’t want tips on the latest hair styles. Many women who are going through San Diego hair loss think that their days of style are over, but this doesn’t have to be true.

In a recent article from the Huffington Post, celebrity hair stylist Dee Daly sat down and answered questions about some of the latest trends in hair. What follows are some of the highlights from the conversation:

Ombre – This is a common hair style especially among female celebrities. It is basically a color gradation technique that involves a dark-to-light fade and looks more natural than the “visible root” technique. According to Daly this trend will not be going away anytime soon, and may be something that you want to implement into your style.

Achieving Healthier Hair – One of the hair care products that Daly recommends it Damage Rescue shampoo and conditioner, which is a great product to keep hair free of flakes while also keeping hair clean of product buildup and the scalp healthy.

Coconut Oil – A great household item for hair health is coconut oil, which is specifically beneficial for the ends of the hair to bring back moisture and a natural shine. By applying roughly a spoonful to your hands and running it through the ends when your hair is damp you can see improvements. Leave the oil in for about an hour and then rinse and shampoo.

Don’t let your thinning hair be a barrier between you and achieving your desired look. Many women have achieved their desired look with assistance from a San Diego hair restoration expert and so can you. Call 760-652-9983 to schedule a free consultation today.

Spring has arrived in San Diego and while winter’s aren’t nearly as harsh on hair in Southern California, there are a few treatments you can utilize to avoid hair loss in San Diego as we head into spring.

Hydration – One key to avoiding San Diego hair loss is to keep your hair and yourself hydrated. Drinking plenty of water is good, but you can also stock up on fruit juices, coconut water, and foods that have a high water content such as cucumbers to keep you hydrated. Utilize hydrating shampoos as well to make sure that your hair stays nice and strong.

Protection – While you may want to start jumping in the pool and laying out in the sun, providing your hair with some protection will help you to avoid hair fall. Using a shower or swim cap when you bathe or go for a dip in the pool will help to protect your hair. Wearing hats as the weather gets warmer will protect you from the sun making your hair too dry or weak.

DIY Mix – A great way to hydrate and cleanse your hair is with a cucumber and yogurt pack. One of the best things about the cucumber and yogurt pack is that you can make it yourself; combine and blend 1/2 a cucumber with 3 tablespoons of yogurt and 1 teaspoon of lime juice. Let the mixture sit on your scalp for about 20 minutes and then rinse it out. This is a great way to reduce hair loss and keep dandruff away.

If you start to notice that you are experiencing excessive hair fall despite utilizing these methods, consult with an expert at a San Diego hair loss clinic to find out if you need to start considering methods for hair restoration. You can receive a free consultation from one of the leading hair restoration clinics in San Diego, Raz International, just by calling 760-652-9983.
